Chapter Eleven

JAMES

“I hope you all have been paying attention to your surroundings since you arrived,” David announces once we’re all gathered on the front porch. “It will come in handy this round.”

The air is cooler than it was when we returned to the manor an hour ago. Or maybe being surrounded by hedges made it feel warmer. Honestly, I don’t give a shit about what the night air feels like while in Evie’s presence. The woman is a distraction of the best kind.

Where are they taking her? How long will she be left alone before I find her? I promised I would find her. Before the clock runs out; before we have to forfeit the round and the staff have to recover her.

I will never stand for that.

She’s mine to find.

Mine to keep.

“As a reminder, the guest quarters upstairs are off limits, but everywhere else is fair game. The ladies are not hidden where you cannot get to them. Meaning, they are not behind locked doors or inside locked cabinets or secret passageways—”

Reese releases a sharp gasp of intrigue. “Wait, are there actually secret passageways inside the manor?”

“There are. But we’ve only got an hour to work with, so we don’t expect you to locate them…or do we…?” David teases with an ominous smirk.

Confusion and intrigue hum through the group. “So please, do not break into anything in order to gain access. If it’s locked, it stays that way. Capisce?”

“Got it,” Mark replies as the rest of us nod in agreement.

“When the ladies are hidden, we’ll return to the foyer.”

The manor is so enormous. This round could be the most daunting of them all, so simple in concept yet seemingly endless in its play. Fortunately, my girl is deliciously tall. There are only so many places they can hide her.

My balls clench at just the thought of those amazing legs. Soon they’ll be wrapped around me, forced apart at the peak to accommodate my insatiable hunger for her tight void. I have every intention of leaving them quivering in my wake.

I discreetly move behind the others in a desperate attempt to hide the boner I can’t seem to control tonight. By the time David is given the okay by a staff member who makes it even more dramatic by whispering it in his ear, my hard-on has dissipated, and I’m ready to take on the final round of the games.

“It sounds like everyone is hidden,” David announces once the staff member has stepped back. “Let’s head in.”

We shuffle back inside, the songs of the crickets fading as we leave them behind in their nightly splendor.

“On my count, you’ll begin your search.” David raises his hand above his head. “In three…two…one. Go.” He whips his arm down like a tomahawk, and we take off in all directions. However, my attention immediately shifts to Ashton, who beelines for the library.

I’m hot on his heels.

He makes his way past the velvet couch and oak coffee table, straight to the bookshelf adjacent to the door.
